Since 1996, Allomet has developed proprietary, patented, and proven technologies related to the design, development, manufacture, and processing of specialty composite metal powders.

Reducing Costs With
Innovative Coating Materials

Utilizing its patented technology, Allomet has created nano-engineered coating microstructures consisting of extremely hard core particles encapsulated in a tough matrix. These engineered microstructures provide a hardness near that of their ceramic core with a toughness greater than standard carbide materials.

Deposition of TCHP material can be accomplished through industry standard methods for conventional carbide materials (HVOF, Laser Cladding, etc…). Advantages of these advanced coatings include:

  • Increases in maximum deposition thickness compared to conventional carbide materials.
  • Higher toughness and wear resistance.

Available Compositions:

Al2O3 Core Particle with WC-Co Matrix
Ti(C,N) Core Particle with WC-Co Matrix

Size Ranges:

20-53µm (HVOF Spraying Operations)
53-105µm (Laser Cladding)

The ability of TCHP grades to maintain high hardness at elevated temperatures is a key benefit that is unmatched by WC-CO dies. This is especially critical in wire drawing where high temperatures are generated by the operating conditions. Sintered TCHP drawing dies will achieve productivity gains through higher process rates and/or longer operating life.
